Default Steve Potter and I got out on the canal behind my house in Florida.

Steve brought a nice old Fenwick #6 line fiberglass fly rod this afternoon.

We fishing the canal behind my house for bass in my 14' Jon boat and did OK.

We fished from 4pm till 6:30pm on top water only.

Steve got some on the smallest Umpqua "Swimming Frog".

One of us runs the boat from the rear tiller electric and one fly cast from the front.

Real nice evening with very low wind too.

Marilyn took some nice pictures of us off our dock with her iPhone 13 Pro.

No Peacock Bass here.......you have to go south for them that are nearing 10#s now.

Our canal is nice clean fresh water that is fed by springs and rain water.

We have Mayan Cichlids, LMB, Blue Gills, Crappie, Tilapia, Gar, Shiners, crabs, Armored Catfish, several kinds of turtles, one 5' alligator.

Also, we have all kind of birds. Some eat the fresh water clams. Lots of different fish eaters. Plus Anhinga (Cormorant).

We have wild Turkeys and Peacocks ( the bird ) in town. Lots of vultures because we have lots of road kills.

In town, we have Bobcats, Fox, Coyotes, Armadillos, wild pigs, possum, otters and racoons.

We also have Gopher Tortoises in town that burrow into the ground that are about the size of a WW2 army helmet.

We are on the east side of Florida on the 150 mile long Intercoastal "Indian River Lagoon" about in the middle of the Atlantic coast.

You have go to the southern end of Florida, around Miami, to get Peacock bass, many other fresh water tropical Exotic fish, iguanas,

    monkeys, Pythons and parrots.

Our empty lots in our town, Sebastian, look like jungles in South America with 50 foot canopies.
