    Default Liberty Island Stripes

My kayak buddy brought me out to Liberty Island to pound some stripers. Didn't get anything massive myself but he pulled a real solid fish out. Highlight was targeting fish in a foot of water and watching their wake come up to the fly before they slammed it. Also got a very chunky largemouth on topwater.

LI is a good kayak spot. Lots of wildlife to see, fish and not a lot of boat traffic. Kind of windy but that is what you get in the Delta. There is a wetland restoration project going on there that is going to reduce public access. Hopefully we will still be able to put a kayak or car topper in but I think the bank guys are not going to have much access.
