    Default Swinging on The Truckee

I had planned on fishing the Lil Truckee where it flows into Boca on Sunday morning. So little flow coming out of the LT that my plan of swinging soft hackles with my two handed trout rod wasn't going to work. So, down river I went(God I miss the Hirsch!) to find some water conducive to swinging. Finally found a spot that was ideal. As I worked my way down the run I ended up with a few 6"-8" fish and missed a couple that felt heavy. At pretty much the bottom of the run it happened, right where is was supposed to, in front of a rock just breaking the surface about 60' down river in the middle of the swing. Just love that electric take you get when swinging!!! Who says you can't catch fish on The Truckee swinging?

    Beautiful fish......

I guess I just love Half-pounder fishing because it is lots of casting and swinging flies and that electric grab is so cool.
