Scam alert

I posted a WTB item and got this PM which certainly appears to be a scam (from a brand new member with zero posts):

Hardydemon 86 has Renzetti Master that he wants to part out for a cheaper price but because i'm not in the state right now, i couldn't purchase it from him maybe you should email him and see if he still have it for sale. Here's his email freeman_corey@aol.com

Hey Troutsource, that's the same guy who hit Carl Blackledge and me up last week. See Carl's "Caution" thread. Nearly the same message, same e-mail, same Alabama location with zero posts, but he replaced vise with reel for me.

Given the three e/mails that have been "publicly reported", (and god knows how many haven't been reported) here on your board, you probably should "nuke" this person from the board and block them via their IP address (if that's possible) so none of the "good members" here never ever have to deal with this ASS-JACK again.

So, I'm making the motion that you "NUKE and forever ban" switz048472947 from this forum.

I too had a weird one a few months ago that was a different handle but similar tactic. Only reason I didn’t get sucked in is because I spaced replying to him. Didn’t even consider it was a scam until reading your experiences

Be sure to report anything suspicious to me or the form.

I just deleted two of the new members who had not posted yet but might have been trying to scam folks.

All I can do is my best and at 77 I am at my technical limits trying to keep all this alive.

If I did not have Gregg Machel to help me when things get wild I would have to give it up.

Remember, we had no TV when I was young. Zero technology. Cars did not even have automatic transmissions.

Homes had no central heat and air conditioning, just swamp coolers and one gas floor furnace.

Refrigerators had just come out so I never saw a "ice box". The Milkman put glass bottles of milk on our porch in the morning.

Most families had one car, a station wagon. We had one black rotary phone, and party lines.

I was born in 1945, right at the end of World War II and before that my parents and grandparents had just gone through the World

wide Great Depression, 1929 to 1939. Everyone fished and hunted back then and ate what they got.

Women canned everything, meat, vegetables, fruit, salmon. Everyone had a vegetable garden and fruit and nut tress in their yards.

We work on most everything our selves. My dad was an aircraft mechanic in World War II for the US Navy and he could fix anything.

My family came from farming and many were mechanics too.
