My friend in the CDFW sent me this info on stream temps:

"Actually, it's not too hard to check on water temperatures for many CA rivers.
Just go to CDWR's CDEC website, specifically the "Current River Conditions" page

This is the link:
Current River Conditions (ca.gov)

Then one selects the river system and clicks. It will bring up some stream gage readings, typically the stream flow in cfs. Some of the gages collect more data, including water temperature. To check, click inside the plot for stream flow and then click a link where it says "Plot all xxx sensors" and see if the gage collects and reports water temperature.

Here's an example, the link for water temperatures in the Klamath River near Klamath, CA.
CDEC - Data Application

It shows that the minimum water temperature has not dropped below 72.0°F for at least 10 days!"
