Default CDF&W wants anglers to take a Striper fishing survey.

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SPJL6DR

I think it would be a good idea.

Found this info by John Quigley on Dan Blanton's Forum.

    Done.
Everyone should do this, it only takes a sec. No sign ins or email required, just click and answer a few questions. You all know the spear fishermen are going to be all over this so we need to be even louder.

There should be a striper slot limit. Just like there should only be a two halibut take limit.

I did it and told them they need a slot limit. Seems like maybe they are going to manage them as the desirable sport fish they are. That would be nice. We’ll see.

just watched a video of guys fishing the Forbear a week ago, using the yo-yo jigging. they must've had 9 stripers in the box. this shit has to stop
Gone are the days when you could catch trophy stripers in the Forbay, talking about the 70's and 80's.

Seeing people keep the big breeder females is sickening.

    Thumbs down Keeping Large Spawners....

Agreed.... Keeping the large spawners is counterproductive, not good to eat and/or good for you. However, maybe a slot limit or catch/release (I voted for both) in fresh water would put a damper on spear fishing the rivers. Lets hope that this survey serves to inform and results in action to improve conditions that promote increased populations of all fish.
