Default SOLD---2019 NRS Otter Dodger XL

    Boat has been sold

I'm selling my 2019 Otter Dodger XL, fully loaded with fishing frame, oars, anchor, swivel seats and much more. A lot of these items will be brand new.

This raft rows like no other on the market, with its dimensions tubes, it gives this raft a slight rocker and in my eyes is the best rowing raft on the market. Including some of the big names out there. This boat tracks well with its I-beam flow. There are no leaks. However there are 2 spots where I've added wear patches. There was some wear caused by the old/wrong stern seat system that NRS sent in the build. The proper stern seat system is on and a wear patch added. This wear was only in the top layer, and its 2 layers. I added a wear patch on the front bow as well as I switched to a full wrap around lean bar set up.

No need to wait till next year to get a raft and hopefully a frame if you are lucky, this boat is ready to hit the water now.

The raft sale does not come with a trailer.

A raft like this set up for fly fishing will run 10k new.
    Asking 6k firm.

    Thanks
    Brian

Rafts are so nice to fish out of.

That first picture made wake up. Wow....so inspiring.

They might like that photo for the NRS web site?

Thanks Bill, that first pic was taken on the Trinity one early morning in Sept last year. This raft in particular has taken me 3 rafts to perfect and have to say, she is extremely comfortable not only to nymph out of, but to sit and float down the river in. Extremely stable, rows well, fairys well for a raft of its size across the river. She's just fun.

Never thought about asking them if they would like to have it. Thanks for the idea.

Also here's the link to the Otter Dodger XL on NRS website. Not much for pics as you have to put it all together.

By the way this isn't that PVC crap, this is high quality Pennel Orca and in my mind is better, stronger and lighter than Hypalon.

We use to do Steelhead float trips down the Rouge river with a big rafting company in Oregon.

They floated folks down several rivers all summer then did a few fly fishing trips down the Rogue in the Fall.

They told me that in the winter they had a huge business professional repairing inflatables of all types.

They said they did not really know how long inflatable would last if kept out of the sun and heat.

This was about 20 years ago and they said they were still getting World War II surplus rafts in for repairs?

I think these were made of canvas and rubber?

    Hey Bill

With modern adhesives, heat welding and materials, if properly taken care of and stored they will last for many many years, can't say indefinitely, but I know a few rafts out there in Nor Cal with 15-20yrs on them and still running strong and thats not the high end material.
