Report 7/11/22 Monday:

"Greetings:
The fishing has continued to be hot over the last few days with the exception of bill fish. Today, July 11th, we headed out in a different direction which turned out to be a bad decision because we only caught three Dorado. We decided to change course for a Rooster hangout we knew about when we got a radio call about 10:00 AM. The call alerted us to a spot about 25 minutes away with one big patch of seaweed about 15 feet in diameter, where there were supposedly "too many" Dorado! We shot over there in a heartbeat and caught fish on the first cast. Then we began a 3-hour battle with about 45 new, smaller Dorado, most of which were 10-20 pounds, but there were a couple of larger ones in the mix. Wow!
Tomorrow we are going to pick up where we left off with Rooster fishing. My Rooster tally for the last few days has been about 30, with one around 40 pounds and the rest around 20 pounds or less. Rooster fishing this year has been quality over quantity, and some of the "good spots" have moved around, but we've still had pretty good luck finding them.
Carl"
