    Default Down In The Delta

Some days they bite and some days they don't. There was a big high tide early this morning which I think they may not have liked or maybe they fed all night on the full moon. Who knows. This time of year if the wind is light that is the time to go. I did get some bass and one striper about 21". The striper hit the surface near me and I got him to grab my top water bug. Not a great day of fishing but a pretty good day of photo taking.

You have to get up early if you want to get the top water bite.

Get the kayak in the water before the sun is up.

Western kingbirds are nesting and stay near the nest which makes them easy to photograph.

I am thinking this fluffy guy is just out of the nest.

Male house finch. Good looking bird.

Male Bullocks oriole. He is a pretty intense dude. I saw him run off a couple of other birds.

Snowy egret showing off his fancy yellow shoes.

    Mourning dove.

    The western pond turtle.

Angler with fish. A couple of common critters in the delta.
