    Default Fuller lake report

Fished Fuller yesterday (05/1. Got on the water around 9:30 AM, water is very cold. Saw a patch of snow on the ground on the south side of Hwy 20, east of the Bowman Lake road.

Fished from the south end of the lake (north parking lot was not open). Noticed a lot of winged ants on the ground. Not much surface activity at first but more ants began falling onto the water which turned on the bite. Put on a #12 floating ant and had my first hit a few minutes later. LDR'd several fish and/or missed a number of strikes. My fishing partner got a few to hand, all Browns. Spoke with another gentleman who also got several Browns on ants. The ant fall slowed down around 11 AM as did the surface feeding but the fish kept hitting the ants until we got off the water around 12:30.

I also used a sparse rust colored wooly bugger size 12 on an intermediate line and had a lot of grabs and lost a few, all towards the east shore.

Glad to hear you had a successful day at Fuller. Those Browns are fun to catch.

Try a black Sheep Creek Special next time. Thanks for the report!

Get up there ASAP as it might slow down in July/August/September.

Once the water stops flowing in, it can get tough.

I remember having an epic day there in October, just me and my buddy in our pontoon boats, in a full on rain/hail/snowstorm casting size 10 barbless olive Woolly Buggers with a slow retrieve, just catching and releasing, until we got too cold and soaking wet to continue. So much fun when those rare days come along...

October is a magic month on most Streams and lakes at the mid-elevation for trout.
