Good casting is the most important thing to be successful on the flats.

This is a great video explaining fly casting to a sighted fish.

*Today with all the indicator fishing many never learn how to fly cast.

    Bill,

You notice there isn't a breath of wind in this video. Why don't these video's show how to cast in real situations or like a wind storm? I think the biggest secrete is a super tight loop and keep the line down---my 2 cents

    100% right on Carl.......thanks.

People need to get their entire saltwater outfit(s) together: rod, reel, fly line, leader and fly.

Try to find some water, a dock or even in a boat to cast from on a windy day.

Keeping the line lower does help a lot because there is an area close to the water that is slower.

A high speed tight loop and a double haul is needed as well.

People who fly fish from a boat have an easier time, especially those who chase Stripers.
