All Bass All The Time

Bass are not everybody's cup of tea but right now that is all I am doing. I might have to mix in some speckled carp to shake things up. I will be trying for salmon next month. That will break up the bass fishing if the speckled carp are not biting.

The winds were light in the Delta today. It is kind on like a flat day on the ocean - when conditions are right you have to go. I decided to put the stripers on the back burner today and go primarily after the largemouth. I tried topwater first and got a couple but also lost a few which I did not like. It seemed they were not fully committing and as a result not staying on. I switched to a streamer and they stopped getting off. When the sun got up I tried a worm fly and got a couple on that. Some good fishing and I was home in time for lunch.

One of the little known secrets to catching fish is having good stickers on your boat. The fish see them and know you are a friendly angler and are more willing to bite.
