This is a fun event and pretty easy to do.
I did it twice and loved it.
If you can't make the fishing part, the weigh in is great by its self.

Thinking about it...
Every angler regardless of their method of preference should fish at least one bass tournament in their lifetime. The anticipation and excitement before blast off is worth the price of admission. Of course, when it's 1pm and you have zero fish in the well you tend to question your decision. (Been there many times).
As far as using a fly rod, the only circuit I know that has a rod length restriction is BBT. Obviously WWBT doesn't. Future Pro doesn't. Another good option is to find a club to join. Cheaper and more laid back usually.
Curious to hear if anyone in here is fishing BassnFly.
Any results for this event?
These is some good info on Dan Blanton's Message Board:

They posted the results on Instagram. The most recent post has the final result. 22.37 pounds for two days by the John Sherman team was the winner. He said they got a 4.2 pound fish at the end of the second day that got them the win. I think they worked hard to get what they got. There is big difference between what would win a gear event and what would win a fly rod event. There was a one day gear fishing kayak tournament a few weeks ago and the winner had 95” which is probably 22 pounds. Seems like you at least double your catch fishing gear.

I think if you fish 'top water fly only' you will reduce it even further unless you are a serious veteran Delta fly angler.
I am very happy for John Sherman who is just one of the best guys I know.
John was very close to KD and is now one of the top fly anglers in the Delta.
I am sure KD would be very proud of John.
