    An extremely special fly rod.........

Light with a soft tip for classic light tippet, spring creek fly fishing for trout.

Some of the best trout fisherman I know fish this kind of fly rod so they can fish light tippets with small flies and land big trout.

Not a good rod for indicator fishing.....like on the Sacramento river blow Redding.

Almost no one makes a 2 piece fly rod anymore......

Kris Pasley uses some of these old Sage fly rods that are 9' #4 line in 2 piece to land huge Kamloops Rainbows in British Columbia.

The better trout fly fishers are usually using smaller line size rods than are commonly used.

This way they can land larger fish on lighter tippets.

Would be interested if it was 3 or 5pc. I don't recall the SP rods original pricing.

I'm hanging on to the Sage SP 386-3 that alternates with the Scott G2 883-4 and G Loomis NRX LP 883-4 in my quiver for the larger spring creeks here in the Driftless area of SW Wisconsin. Each is on the fast side of moderate. I don't have a favorite, but the G2 is my travel 3 weight when heading West. Cheers, Chris
