Contact Captain Andy Guibord at Kiene's Fly Shop for some real world info.
Local guide Bruce Porter says you need a jet boat to get around on the lower American river in these low flows.

This has been going on since the 1970s.......
I think it was in the 1980s that after work a bunch of us went to Rossmoor Bar access.
Don Rotsma was on his way home from a trout trip and had his suburban full of gear.
I think the crooks were using a body hammer with a huge screwdriver attach to punch out you lock.
That evening as we go back to our cars from fishing about a dozen vehicles had been burglarized.
It was happening all the time.....we thought of trying to go down there and catching them.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I was thinking of drifting a pontoon boat based on the low flow conditions and the fact that I would not want to leave my truck with a empty trailer attached. Does that make it any safer?
Don't leave anything anybody would want in the truck and leave it unlocked.
