Oooooooh , that looks fun !
I remember when Camp Far West had active Striper stockings . Before I fly fished , I'd fish the bank there w/ 6 Lb. spinning gear . Pretty neat how the Stripes would burn off on a couple pounds of drag ....

David,
How long ago was it that Camp Far West had stripers? I'd love to think there are still some in there. Maybe kind of like Lake Mendocino? They stopped planting stripers there too, but there are still some resident fish around.
My wife's family is from that area and they used to fish the lake as kids and take big stripers back then 50-60 years ago.
They still come up the Bear River from the Feather too.

Hi Tony !!
I caught them there from the mid-1980's , to the early 90's . We used to have to buy a Striper stamp , remember those ? I landed them to around 10 Lbs. , but it was never 'red hot' ..... you might get a couple on a trip . In Spring , they would push Shad to the banks .... rest of the time they were deep . I know Stripes require moving water to spawn , so I doubt they ever spawned in there .
I also took quite a few Steelhead in the Bear below CFW - every one of them had been clipped (hatchery stock) , none were over 20 inches , and they were pretty abundant around Trout opener (April 15th or so was the 'old' opening date) . They had to be Feather Fish .

Here's a little steelie that took a clouser while fishing for stripers right at the mouth of the Bear River a couple of years ago.
Everybody loves chartruese / white clousers.
