Default The Legend on the Umpqua river, Frank Moore, just passed away.

Here is a nice note from one of our old friends:

    "Bill,

I received a email from a close friend in Roseburg, Frank had passed last night.
Frank was 98 and would have been 99 in 7 days.
My interactions with Frank will always be engrained in my memories of the N. Umpqua. Frank and Jeanne had been living in Glide with their daughter after the terrible wildland fires of a few years ago. They had lost everything in that fire.
Frank was a very giving and genuine man of integrity. If you haven't watched his Ted talk that he did a number of years ago, please look it up ,it tells a lot about his dedication to the environment and his service in WW2.

I'm not the type to post to the board directly, if you would like to check this info and post please do.

    Dennis Swope
    Burney, Ca."

    Yes Mike.....

We have now lost most of the Greatest Generation of Americans who lived through the Great Depression and World War II.

What an amazing life they both had on the banks of the beautiful Umpqua river in Oregon.

Their lives can not be relived today..................

Here s a wonderful article about Frank's passing and on his life story:
