    Default Sport fishing license

Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 817 authored by Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Santa Rosa) this past legislative session for CDFW to provide an electronic display option for sport fishing license items and sell a sport fishing license that will be valid for 365 days from the purchase date rather than the calendar year. However, implementation of this new law requires technological infrastructure revisions, so neither will be available during the 2022 license year.

I wonder if that means our report cards can be on the phone? With an option to mail it in via an app? That might be useful.

Oregon licenses and report cards can all be kept on the phone now but I print them up because I don’t trust the phone with my license yet. From what I have seen I am the only one up there still carrying a paper copy. My Oregon license last year was about $210. The steelhead/salmon card is $56 and the crab/shellfish is $28 so they get you with the add ons. They are clever. Washington is still on paper and cheaper than Oregon. It is about time to drop some money on licenses although my Washington license is good until March 31. Maybe I will go up there this winter and try to catch a steelhead from the bank.

If you are a Florida resident and 65 years or older you get a free fishing and hunting license.

Michigan's annual all species non-resident license is $76.
My California resident license is $54 + $6.22 for the ocean
    enhancement permit.
Not complaining, simply commenting. Still remembering
those years when you were supposed to display/wear
your fishing license. In an interview, one of the DFG's
poobahs admitted that it was a reaction to
    slumping license sales.
    Best to all and a
    Happier New Year.

Over 65 in Nevada- Combination Hunting & Fishing License is $15 but you must be a resident for 5 yrs prior.
No extra charge for ocean fishing.

I have an AT&T cell phone and I have never been able to get phone service at either Putah creek or Manzanita lake. I'm sure there are lots of other streams and lakes off the beaten track where cell phone service is not available. So I think I would also carry a paper copy of my license.

Unless noted otherwise in the regs I think you will be able to have a downloaded copy or a screenshot on your phone, so you won't need cell phone service to show it.

Anyone ever figure out why your license isn't valid unless signed? Will we have to sign the e version?
