    Default Oregon Hatches??

I'm assuming you're a Trout fisherman. Oregon hatches should be listed in on-line blogs of guides and/or fly shops; of which there are several in cities/towns of Oregon. Other reliable sources for these hatches and related patterns is YOUTUBE videos on fly tying. Finally, books on Oregon fly fishing. Rather than buying, check out the local library or go to a fly shop and see if they have some magazines or books to read in store. Its OK to have someone tell you about a particular hatch but they may not know the information you'll want (insect description, size, hatch timing, etc.). You'll learn lot more by doing your own research.

I've replied without specifying any hatches but learning to tie many different patterns for different water types requires doing some research. You're on the right track....

There’s the salmon fly hatch on the rogue in southern Oregon in May/June i believe, and I’d imagine they hatch on many other Oregon rivers. That’s a fun bug to tie and fish!

I am sure there are tons of hatches on many Oregon lakes and streams.

Here is some info I dredged up out of my poor old brain.

Salmon fly hatch on the upper Rogue river (The Holy Water) in June?

Also BWO hatches all winter on the Rogue river , weather and flows dependent.

Salmon fly hatches on the Deschutes river in early June.

Caddis fly hatches in July on the Deschutes river.

Green Drake mayfly hatch on the Metolius river June.

Years ago we fished huge Callebaetis mayfly hatches on Oregon's Davis Lake.

We also hit the Damsel fly emergences on Crane Prairie reservoir in the mid-summer.

The entire state of Oregon is a fly fishing treasure......

    ECC,

Get a copy of Western Streamside Guide by Dave Hughes. That will give you a big picture list of the bugs, and the flies to match them. Give the guys at The Caddis Fly in Eugene Oregon a call for info on specific lakes and streams.
