Post Trout Spey on the Moke

I finally found the time to kayak down the Mokelumne from the dam to Clements. Water was super low and scraped on the bottom several times. The new salmon spawning areas they put in are nice. Ended the day with 8 grabs and 5 fish landed, all on sculpins and leaches although they seemed to prefer the sculpin. Mostly 8 to 10 inch fish but I was suprised to hook into a very lively 14 incher, who managed to make my hardy scream a little bit, all wild and with beautiful colours. Hoping for some rain so this beautiful river can show its true potential

    Nice photos............

Over the years guys from the Stockton club, Delta Fly Fishers, would talk about fishing and drifting below Comanche reservoir on the

Moke. Spring on a normal years was always popular with caddis activity.
