Paperwork to DMV for buying used boat?

Hi,
My friend is giving me his boat and trailer.

I have the pink slip.

Does the “notice of transfer and release of liability “ get detached then filled out and sent to DMV. See top of the photo?

The back has “application for transfer by new owner”. I’m assuming I fill out and keep.

Anything else I need to do?
