    Default Dixie Fire

The Dixie Fire is truly terrible.

We have lost a huge amount of old growth forest and the streams this year will be running brown with ash and silt coming down the burnt hills.

We have lost so much. 90% of Greenville is gone.

My friends at Quail Lodge in Canyon Dam have lost their business and their home. John & Debbie run a guide business and John is the president of the Lake Almanor Fishing Association.

Lassen Meadows Ranch is destroyed. This is my private water lake that has 10 different structures that are pretty much all gone. The owners Debbie & Russ are devastated beyond belief.

Our family cabin is still standing in Almanor and Prattville are all still there. West Almanor has seen houses lost. I believe the last number I saw was around a dozen. A dozen to much.

The fire is burning on 4 different fronts and is now in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

I am disbelief on the damage and heart ache this fire has caused.

Pray for the safety for everyone involved.

    Stay safe folks.

Very sorry to hear of this. It's sad how often we have to go through it.

Yeah it’s devastating Lance! We’ve been hit hard in Plumas county the last 2 years. I feel for everyone that is going through this, knowing what it’s like to evacuate everything last year from our cabin, thank good it got put out in time. I can’t imagine losing everything, so sad. We actually have evacuees staying at our place from getting evacuated from Chester last week! Hope your place survives and everyone that’s around the fire. I’m doing the Indian rain dance!

They live in Forest Ranch - but they do have a place on the East Shore.

They are holding the line at A21

It has burned all through Warren Valley with many cabins burned to the ground.

It is almost to Butte Lake in the park.

    Terrible

Yes global warming aided by ARSON. It was in the news today.......college professor arrested for arson in several places around Springville. If you go to calfire you'll be able to see all the arson cases. If you google for California arson cases you will find plenty of them which suspiciously don't make to prime time news in many cases.
