Default Manzanita report for 06/13 and 06/14

I fished Manzanita 2 1/2 hours on Sunday and 5 hours on Monday. Both days were VERY windy. Sunday was a complete bust. I had one fish on, a strike from a small fish, and one other possible hit. That was it.

I started at the lake at 10:00 on Monday hoping the winds had died down. Unfortunately, there was a front moving through that created winds as bad as the previous day. After three hours of fishing I had had no strikes. I decided to lengthen my tippet, add a split shot and cast out as far as I could. This changed my luck. In the next two hours I hooked six fish. I landed two 14 1/2" browns, a 15" rainbow and a 14" rainbow and had two ldr's. It was a tough day of fishing but at least I finished strong.

Manzanita is a special place.......high enough (6000') to survive low water / low snowfall years.

Today it has cabin that you can rent.

    Love that place
Too many cabins and rental crafts these days but still one my favorite places
Epic during an ant fall or callibeatis hatch
