Beautiful scene. I assume those are the Sierra Buttes. I hiked from Sierra City around those once. Not to the fire lookout at the top but pretty close to it. That was a good day.

Great picture Willies, I was just up there the other day.

John, beautiful country indeed. I’ve done a lot of exploring in those hills over the last 37 years from the top of that lookout all the way over to Cromberg, either on foot or two wheels. Lots of history and some beautiful lakes hidden up there. Definitely one of California’s most beautiful Sierra locations in my book!

Years ago we had a customer who worked in the Sierras.

He had been to almost every lake in California.

When he came in it was like a challenge or a game.

People who start talking about a lake that they had been to and he would then tell us all about it.

I think he had an old world War II Jeep?

Nothing creeps through the hills as well, or sounds as good as a Willys. They can climb and descend while idling.

Haha! Had a friend that would hop out of his and walk along the side of it as it would climb up a a steep hill adjusting the steering wheel occasionally. The old granny gear trick. It was either a mountain bike or dirt bike for me or just my two feet.
