Default Clear Lake crappie are still on!

I fished Konocti Bay, launching my pontoon boat from Borenbega Boat store. Was planning on fishing for bass and crappie. The crappie bite was so strong that I did spend much time on bass.got about 50 in three hours. I was using a float n fly with the fly about 7'deep. Largest were15". Afternoon to evening wind was calm in that part of the lake.

    Hi Mike,

Were you using a full sink line I'm guessing? What was your set up with rod and line?

That's pretty awesome numbers, I hear crappie are good eating too, but I've never tried it.

I was using a six weight with a floating line. The float and fly method I mentioned is basically using a crappie jig type fly under an indicator.

Crappie are great eating; unfortunately Clear Lake has a mercury warning in effect. Read about it and carefully consider your health before consuming them.
