    Default Berryessa Bass

The shoreline bass bite is still going at Berryessa. It is good early and drops off pretty hard around noon but if you get there at 6:00 you have about had it by noon anyway. Mostly spotted bass today with one largemouth, some smallmouth and a bluegill. I have a new fly that seems to be better than my old flies. It is black with a hot pink collar. It looks stupid but it works. The old saying is if it is stupid but works it is not stupid. That definitely applies to this fly. A fun day of fishing.

We launch at Markley. The store is burned and gone but the ramp is operational. $25 right now. $20 for seniors. I usually fish in the narrows which are right there at Markley. The steep banks in the narrows seem to be better for the float and fly. The main lake is mostly flatter banks and the wind protection there is not as good.
