    Default Delta Today

Here is a nice six pounder. Not a line out of place on this one. Light winds today made it easy to fish but it seemed like grabs were a littler harder to find. A lot of boats out there spooking the fish and the bright sunlight probably did not help much either. It is supposed to be windy the rest of the week so that could be it for striper fishing for a while. The water was 56+ but the bass were not on the grab. I am thinking April 1st and 60+ degree water will get the bass going. The gear guys will get them before that because they can bounce baits on the bottom. My experience with flies is you need them pretty active and willing to come up and chase your bug.

Looks like a healthy fish John......

May is Captain Kevin Doran's favorite month for top water LMB in the Delta.

Dan Blanton told me March can be a good month for Stripers in the Delta.

A top conventional bass guide here in Florida told me when it hit 72 degrees they like to fish those frog imitations.
