Default Fly fishing the Tamiami Trail running coast to coast across southern Florida.

You can fly to Florida, maybe rent a small RV?

    Hey Bill.
Did that one twice on different visits to Fl. WHAT A HOOT!!! A 5wt and a #10 surfcandie type bug will completely wear your arms out pestering ALL kinds of interesting plus common type fishes.
Had an 8+ft gator try sneaking up on us roadside. We were able to touch the other side of his body with our 10' rod before we decided to mosie on.
    Amazing playground, for sure....

This is such an easy add-on for a typical inshore saltwater trip to South Florida. Fly a redeye into MIA arriving early morning. Drive the trail across the peninsula that day, stopping to fish here and there and arrive in Marco Island that evening. Spend a few days inshore fishing out of Naples/Marco, then drive the trail back across and catch an evening flight back to the west coast that night. Added bonus, it's usually cheaper to fly in and out of MIA than RSW.
