    Default Spey for Large Kings

I just scored a classic reel on Ebay. Peaker #46 (John Emory Tarpon Clone) made in San Jose. The reel is a true beast and heavy. Was looking to pair it with a 10/11 wt Spey (13') for Large Kings or possibly 12 wt Single Hand for SoCal Saltwater. Thinking more on the lines of large kings up in OR. Any thoughts or advice where I should match this monster killer reel?

    Thanks

Carl Blackledge knows a lot about the King salmon fly fishing on the lower Rogue river.

Top Spey fly fishing guide Jason Hartwick worked at Hoodoo Lodge in NW Alaska which is famous for big fresh Kings right out of the salt, wading with Spey rods.

I guess those Peaker reels are very good.
