    Default Summer/Fall Steelies.....

Had a okay trip for how low the numbers have been on the Rogue river this year. The no rain part is keeping the fish down river big time. Also by the time rain might come it might be heavier rains, and might keep the water un-fishable being its either off muddy or high water levels. But we shall see what nature dictates. landed 5 fish... got pics of three. lost two at the shore line. Lost another 3-4 in a long distance "tactical-release" fashion, haha! But all in all good times! My brother did a bit better being he was using a spoon. He gear fishes. Met a nice gentleman on our last day. He was from Cali, got to talking about the Trinity and Klamath, and other fun stuff regarding our passion for steelhead. Surprisingly he was a swing guy, which over the years fishing the Rogue I don't run into many that fish the river swinging flies.

I guess as the water is cooling and the algae is dying the K might be the spot.

    Some pics....

An honest report. The Rogue is very slow with no rain and salmon are late.

Thanks for the report- I’d take those numbers for sure if I ever got out. Looks like the perfect place to swing!
