Default Eugene Graham and I under the Watt Avenue Bridge this evening.

Eugene and I met up under the Watt bridge for a nice 'casting session' for Steelhead.

It was very nice down there and fun spending time with one of our old Kiene's staff members.

Shoot Bill I didn’t even recognize you, my wife and I were the ones that snuck in behind you guys w the blue hobie and the pac 1000. It was my maiden voyage in it, and I absolutely love it! That sun was brutal blaring in our face the last few hours. Great day to spend on the water w my wife
Your casts looked great that’s all I noticed

    Hi Jake

When you two came down the river I wondered if it was someone I knew when I saw the fly rods.

I did say something to your wife who said it was a great day on the river.

I was thinking of announcing that I was the 'famous Bill Kiene' but refrained.

I am a pretty good single handed fly caster but only an intermediate two-hand caster.

Floating the river was not popular "back in the day"...........Only the past 20 years have we had boats on the river.

Before that we had raft and canoe rentals (pre-Kayak and pontoon boats).

PS: I demoed a PAC 1000 once and loved it.....kind of like a big old Cadillac......very safe feeling on a big river.

Our Jeff Putnam used the PAC 1000 to 'float and camp' down the famous Dean River some years ago.

Last night I was casting my new Redington 11'4" #3 line 4 piece light Switch rod / Trout Spey?

I was getting 60 to 70 feet with it when things went well.

Next September, 2021, I hope to take it to the Klamath or Rogue river for Half-pounder Steelhead.

For old farts like me (75) the lower Rogue and lower Klamath rivers are pretty easy wading with mostly gravel.

Jake it was great seeing you and your wife floating behind us. I was checking out both boats. I am a huge Hobie fan having a Pro Angler 14 myself. I hope to see the both of you on the water again.
