Will start my Fall season tomorrow. This 30” fish was taken five years ago today.

Right on .... good luck to you Langenbeck. Beautiful fish. I am planning on spending a few weeks this month on the Klamath, but due to the fire not sure how much is going to be open in the middle river where I fished mostly last year. Might also drive up and fish the Rogue for the first time. Are the fish pretty spread out, throughout the entire river during mid-late October?

By mid-Oct fish are spread throughout the entire Rogue. Late October is usually the peak of the season.

Just got back from 3 days on the Rogue. Fished from below Grants Pass to MacGregor Park and points in between. Got one or two grabs, but zero fish, except for "quarter pounders". I asked the Ashland Fly Shop where the fish were and they said "the Klamath". Fished near Happy Camp on my way home yesterday. Hooked and lost a nice fish right off the bat and that was it.

Sounds like a steelhead trip! I herd some of Happy Camp burned? Hopefully I get up to the Klamath in a couple of weeks.
    Thanks for the report.

The forest was burned down to the Hwy in places upstream of Happy Camp. I didn't see anything burned in HappyCamp itself, but I didn't leave the Hwy so there may be damage closer to the hills.

Gotcha, I like the market there. Lots of good stuff in there. Hoping to get up there early next month.
    Thank you for the info.
