I would love to spend a month up there and this year I plan on doing no less than 4-5 days each time I go. I will say that I won't ever go in November again. The days are too short and unless you are doing a float you can easily waste the day away in the truck going from spot to spot.

I've been thinking about my annual trip to the Klamath for half pounders too. While planning the trip, I heard that Hoopa and Yurok country are both presently closed to tourists due to covid issues. Yuroks are reporting 0 cases so it may be working.

Lower Rogue could be on the agenda instead.

You heard? What part of the river is considered Yurok country?

Yeah. My kid lives in Humbold County and he told me. So I went to the Yurok government web page and confirmed.

Weichpec down to the mouth is all Yurok Country. I think you can still fish in the estuary for salmon from a boat.

    Here's the Yurok covid website:

I'm hoping the policy changes but not holding my breath.

I'm going to head up tomorrow. I've only been going there a couple seasons but it seems by the time I had gone it appeared I had missed some opportunities.

Let us know how it goes. There's fish in the Trinity, so there should be some around.

Is the river open to jet boats or is it considered Yurok territory and as such, no access is allowed due to Covid closure?
