I'd probably go with the old Mosquito pattern. It's been around a long time. I don't have a photo of my own but this video explains it pretty well. If you tie, I'd probably switch out the grizzly hackle wings for maybe just some blue dun split wings or pale comparadun deer style. Keep the peacock quill body thin and light. A coat of head cement over the peacock quill makes the body more durable.

I apologize, I didn't watch that video all the way through. He uses a stripped grizzly hackle quill for the body. I prefer using a stripped peacock quill. You get much better segmentation. Check this video for preparing and wrapping peacock quill bodies.

How about a sparsely tied Adams. Remove the tail if you want to..

Can't go wrong with an Adams. A dark Quill Gordon would probably work too.

    Hi John,

Sorry if I mislead you. I cheated and pulled a picture from:

    https://www.4flyfishing.com/dry-flie...dams-dry-fly-5

It looked better than mine and I thought it was a better match for the real one.
My Adams are not that sparse.
If you go to the website you can get a good closeup.

    Regards,

    Tim C.
