    Default Harry Mason Tutorials

I'm posting this link as a public service to all fly tiers - old and new!

    https://web.archive.org/web/20080620...com/tutorials/

This is a web archive of the fly tying tutorials created by the late, great Harry Mason. These step-by-step tutorials are the best available anywhere.

For those that don't know about Harry Mason he was a masterful fly tyer and irreplaceable friend of the fly fishing community.

Harry died in 2012 and his family kept his website up for a while but it's now long gone. As far as I know, these tutorials now only exist at

    www.web.archive.org.

Let's not let these tutorials disappear! Get busy twisting up some of these flies!

While Harry's site was revolutionary for its day -- one of the early if not the first web-based tying tutorial sites -- there are numerous better sites out there now. Charlie Craven's is probably the most noteworthy that I have found: https://charliesflyboxinc.com/fly-box-2/

Of course, those of us who learned to tie patterns off of Harry's site will always be in his debt.
