A buddy and I ran up and drifted the Trinity the other day. We drifted the Canyon section and we got very lucky weather-wise. There was a slight amount of rain in the morning and that was it, heck it wasn't even cold by Trinity standards.

The fishing there has turned more to true Steelhead fishing this past couple of years. We did not hook a hatchery fish all day, nor did we the prior 2 day trip. It's as if they have vanished. We did catch a number of smolts and half pounders. It seems like you get a couple/ few opportunities at true salted adult fish each day, so be ready when you do. The water had cleared from the rain last week and was low, so pretty technical fishing conditions.

Fish are there to be caught, but it's a pretty skinny game right now for the adult fish. We heard of several boats that were blanked that day.

Well, I hope everyone has a great Holiday season and Santa fulfills fishing needs for everyone. If he needs a clue, yo know where to send him!
