    Default Olympian boats

I came across this on craigs list and I am very casually considering a boat project. Anyone know anything about them?

I would guess that between Bill Kiene and I we know about as much as anyone about the Olympian/Columbia Boats--Bill more than I.

In short, $1000 is a very fair deal if the condition is as represented. I had a 12', as did Bill, which makes sense as I bought his after he had sold it to someone else a few years ago. Probably my second favorite boat ever, next to my current Whaler. Stable, decently built for a rolled hill single ply skiff, will take a lot of abuse, fine on the Delta down to super skinny water, nice broad beam.

The motor is probably a throw away so get a 25hp Honda or Yamaha. It will do at least 25 mph. It is practically custom made for fly fishing our local waters. Because of the configuration, I fished two easily from my 12' so the 14' would be that much nicer.

PM me for any questions. I'm a big fan and would buy it today if I was in the market.

John Wallace is 100% spot on......

Somebody buy it.......a steal........fanatic boat for two fly fishers.

Toss the motor and get a new 20 to 25 Yamaha or Honda 4 stroke motor.

I hate those old two strokes but a Yamaha 2 stroke would be OK.

Discussed with the wife last night. She still isn't over the last boat I bought and sold, so I am unfortunately missing this, but hope someone in the market gets it.

It is a shame if no one buys it...so practical.
