Default New Hazards on the Trinity

There is a new tree down below Steel Bridge blocking the channel. It might have blown out with this last storm, but it was there on Friday. The tree is located in the right split channel below the bridge crossing the river. Right now you can avoid the hazard by taking the left channel which is passable at all flows (although a bit bony).

It is possible to get over the tree but it is a lot of work. The water is deep enough to nearly top your waders. We had to lift our raft over the hazard and we came very close to topping our waders several times.

Also, beware of a new tree overhanging the river below the 299 bridge in Douglas City. It isn't super dangerous but there are branches hanging down that can catch rods and other things.

There is another tree completely blocking most of the river on the canyon float (chop tree to Evans bar). You can drag the boat over the shallow to the left of the tree.
