    Default Question????

    I have an Orvis 6 1/2' 2 wt 1 oz. 2pc fly rod.

The reel seat has a sliding rings and is cork. It has the Orvis rigged blank, unsanded.. It has a couple little scratches on the blank. It also has the original metal tube and even has an old tube of ferrule wax.

My question.. Does anyone have any idea what this rod would sell for. I'm thinking about selling the rod since I haven't used it in years, many years. I don't even have the 2 wt reel anymore. I'll probably put it on eBay next week

    Thanks for any information

    Jay

Was this the rod that was called the Flea Flicker?

    Hi Jay .

If you go to Ebay , you can type in Orvis 2 wt. , then click on the little box that says 'Completed listings' , that will show you what the same item has sold for in the past .

Good luck with your sale !

You could call or email Jim Adams of Adams Angling in Berkeley, CA for a guess of it's value.

eBay is the best way to get top dollar for anything like that.

It might be called the "Flea"?

That would be a fun and unusual rod for someone.

eBay shows a selling price of between $250 and $300. With scratches on the blank you’re probably at or below the low end of that. As long as the scratches are only superficial. And that’s a problem on eBay - you need to disclose the scratches - put some good photos of them - but buyers get very touchy about rod damage they can’t inspect in person. If the scratches are minimal and they can see that in the photos you’ll be ok.
There are few things in life more pleasing than the sublime marriage of form and function that is found in a well crafted fly rod.

Scratches are very minimal. Only two small ones about 1/8" in length. You have to look hard to find them
