    Default Winter destinations

    Going to road tripping the winter starting after Thanksgiving heading to Prescott to vist family any fly fishing destination you guys can recommend thanks

    Tom,
    You might try the Upper Owens, which is north of Lake Crowley.
    Rainbows move up from the lake into the stream. Decent
    gravel road on the east side just after crossing the bridge.
    Look for fish in the deep holes at river bends.

    Usually it fishes well to very well, in my opinion. It has its “quirks” as always, but generally late fall through early spring is the main time I like to fish it. For a variety of reasons. The Truckee can be pretty nice in the winter too; I never catch a lot of fish there in the winter, but I usually hook/catch a few and the size/quality is better than most fish I hook in the summer months.
    The drive down the east side alone makes a winter road trip there well worth it to me! Good luck,
