Default Why is the cfs on the lower Stan @ Goodwin Dam changing so much?

Anyone know or understand why the Lower Stanislaus @ Goodwin Dam is running so fast at this time of year? It used to run at about 200-450 cfs normally in Oct. There's been times last week where it was 1400cfs then a couple days later 450. Just doesn't make sense.....there's no constant on that section anymore, this has been going on for about 2 years now!

I think the State of California uses there flows to push back salt water intrusion in the Delta?

These higher pulses have been the “norm” on the Stan for many years. I had always heard it was related to Salmon but it’s been forever, so I don’t remember the details.

    The schedule is provided here:

I think they do raise the flows on the American and Feather rivers to draw up the Fall salmon.

They do the same thing on the NFF for the whitewater kayaker's. Supposed to go from 300 cfs to 1200 or so Sat and Sun.
"For years, every time he stopped at the house to collect his paper money, it was the same routine. The old man in the wheelchair would ask him how he'd like it if he took him fishing and showed him a few things. He always said he'd like that.
When the old man finally passed away, his wife gave the kid a box of flies. He has them today, tucked away in a closet, never to be fished."
