Thumbs up SF Bay Action Packed Day

Just a quick note about yesterday's action on the SF Bay. I was honored to share the day with Captain Gregg (Feather Dog Outfitters). We enjoyed steady action throughout the trip around our North Bay habitat. Great fun targeting stripers with 6 and 7wt outfits. Used small baitfish patterns (approx 1.5 to 2.5 inches in overall length). Caught fish from the surface to about 6 feet deep.

The Bay conditions were ideal. The views were world class. The fellowship outstanding.

    Cheers, Ken

Alright Kenny! Great to see you're getting out. Are 6 and 7 wts normal on that run? Sounds like a blast.

Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Jake: Hit it.

    Say hey Ed-Boyyyyy...
I appreciate your enthusiasm. As you know I usually decide on my gear with a "conditions driven" mindset (weather, tide, current, depth, foodchain, cover/structure). The conditions were perfect for the lighter outfits. Gregg had the rods rigged and ready to go. We also had heavier gear in case the conditions dictated a change would be necessary.

    Howdy Bill...
Thanks for the welcome back bud. I love your stories about the old days. They provide great insights into our West Coast FF heritage.

    Cheers, Ken
