New twist on old fly
I've been working on a tube version of Charlie's Airhead based on ideas I came up with after reading Meng Syn's Alaska report on Silvers and corresponding with him via email. He explained to me how they change the weight of their flies just by using different weighted "cone" heads. That got me to thinking, why not try an airhead on a tube which would allow you to change the depth and speed of the drift just by changing the hook? So I tied up a couple in pink and white about 5-1/2 inches long (see pictures) and I think they would also work well for saltwater fish. This version will hide a lot of the hook from those picky Roosters and jaded Dorado, and should also be killer for billfish on top.
