    Thanks for the post.

Moen's videos are always very high quality, love to watch them on the big screen tv.

    Gotta try Deschutes drys someday.

We did a 4 day float trip many years ago on the lower Deschutes river with a good guide service in early October.

They recommended we use size 6 Silver Hilton, swung on a floating line.

One of our guides like to go behind us in certain places waking a dry fly.

Maybe 50 years ago we got a customer in to the sporting goods store who was going to the Deschutes river in Oregon with a guide.

He had a list of tackle they needed for that trip recommended by the guide.

    Fenwick fiberglass FF858 fly rod (8' 6" #8 line in 2 piece)

Pflueger Medalist 1495 1/2 fly reel

100 yds of braided Dacron backing

DT8F (Double taper 8 floating) fly line

This was really different because we were still using sinking shooting heads for our Nor Cal Steelheading.

"Greased Line" or floating line fishing for Steelhead started in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia by transplanted Atlantic salmon fly fishers from Europe and then the northeast coast of America.
