    Default Toad!

I did a canoe trip the first half of this month. We fished but it was more of a traveling trip so that was how we spent most of our time. We passed through 38 lakes and several creeks and rivers in 15 days. Some only took 10 minutes to get across and some were 10+ miles long. Lots of moving and dealing with whatever weather was coming our way so not a ton of photos but I did get a few. I have posted on this trip before so if you are interested in the kind of fishing available check out the prior posts.

Here is Mr. Toad blending in with the pine needles. Not the "toad" anglers like to think about but still a pretty cool animal.

Here is the Mr. Toad's stool.

Trumpeter swans. We saw swans on this lake in May. I would not be surprised if these are the same birds.

It takes a lot for a bird this big to get off the water.

    Pretty nice beach campsite.

Campfire shot with the moon up.

We were in Canada just above Minnesota. At one point we were just a few miles from the border. People often start in the US and paddle into Canada. They have a couple of remote entry points but you need to get a remote entry permit in advance. On the PCT you get a permit to enter Canada in advance but after that you just walk in. The forest is cleared along the border and I expect they watched me walk in.
