Default Fun time with hoppers on Hot Creek and the Upper Owens

Spent a 4 day long weekend in Mammoth last weekend and had a lot of fun tossing hoppers on Hot Creek and the Upper Owens in the afternoons and fished 3 mornings at Crowley Lake. The fishing wasn't quite red hot but there were some nice fish to be caught. There was quite a bit of company in all spots on Friday and Saturday. Here is a nice Brown that I got on a hopper at Hot Creek.

I was up there as well. An unbelievable amount of hoppers around. Always fun to throw foam all day!

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy new fly fishing gear and that usually does the trick.

Just got back from 2 days on the Upper Owens and Hot Creek. Fishing was GREAT as the weather has turned cooler. Caught 9 nice Rainbows and lost 5, darn barbless hooks , on the Owens and this one at sunset on Hot Creek. As you can see it was cold as the wind came up.
