If you can still find it P-Line Hydrofloat works pretty good as a running line. It’s a Spectra Braid and floats pretty good. Not as pricey as Rio products.

50# P-line hydrafloat is the best on sub 300 grain trout speys
I use the 50# Hydrofloat on all my setups up to 8wt. Takes some getting used to handling this line because it is thin and will cut into your fingers and hand if you are not careful. While it doesn't coil like unstretched mono, it will tangle badly if you don't manage your line between casts.
I think most mono is cheaper and give you more/easy distance but I really never liked mono running/shooting line.
I think every 100 hours you can cut a few feet off the front of your floating shooting/running line and weld on another loop.

Hey bill what line did end up going going with ? Just picked up the same rod an was looking at the Rio intouch spey .
Many lines work but on recommendation from Spey friend I got a Scientific Angler Spey Lite floating Scandi head that is 240 grns and 22 feet.
I will use a 10 or 12 Rio Steelhead leader mostly.
I will use a short sinking Poly or Versi leader too.
