Check with the Trinity Fly Shop about salmon in the Trinity River.

    https://www.trinityflyshop.com/

There are usually salmon at the mouth of the Klamath and mouth of the Rogue rivers in July/August.

Some use egg imitations and others use Comet style flies for salmon.

Salmon start into the Lower Eel, lower Smith and lower Chetco rivers around October 15 with November being best.

Half-pounders will be in the Lower Eel, lower Klamath and Lower Rogue rivers around Labor Day.

Most use size 8/10 wet flies for Half-pounders

    Question Ferndale Area

The lower Eel is nearby but is subject to low flow closures as are most rivers/streams up there. You could call Grundman's Sporting Goods in Rio Dell (Phone, (707) 764-5744 · Address. 75 Wildwood Ave; Rio Dell) for some info. Good surf perch fishing up there. Maybe some Sea Run Cutthroat, altho they're usually found north of the Eel.
