Default Lower Bucks Lake draining 2020

I was at a meeting last weekend where a PG&E representative said that there will be no effort made to save the fish, all fish are expected to die. Fish and Wildlife (GAME) has a policy against transplanting non-native fish. Lower Bucks is largely populated by fish washing over the spillway from Bucks Lake, but they are still not willing to try to relocate any.

There will be no energy production from Bucks or Lower Bucks, so this will probably also impact Grizzly Forebay.

Yes, the draining will begin late this year. This phase of the project will keep the lake closed until at least November 2020. They were not clear about the impact of the following phases or the timeline to refill the lake.

Cheaper than building a new dam........
"For years, every time he stopped at the house to collect his paper money, it was the same routine. The old man in the wheelchair would ask him how he'd like it if he took him fishing and showed him a few things. He always said he'd like that.
When the old man finally passed away, his wife gave the kid a box of flies. He has them today, tucked away in a closet, never to be fished."
