Captain Andy Guibord has fished the Lower American River more than most and knows it well.

Years ago Andy and Fred Gordon both use to snorkel dive the river for savage.

They mostly retrieved sunglasses and other booty lost by rafters below the rapids.

While doing this they both witnessed very large Stripped Bass in the river.

July, August and September is a good time to find these resident Stripers upriver in the Valley rivers.

Andy mostly guides the Lower American River at this time after the Shad run slows down some.
